The 10-day music and theatre festival ‘Theatre By The Sea’, now on its 17th year, will be held in seaside favourite Ostend. Among the stage shows and exhibitions featured in this cultural event, one exhibit is organized by Lucas Catherine, a ‘historian of forgotten business’, in the Venetian galleries. Loopgraven in Afrika (1914-1918). De vergeten oorlog van de Congolezen tegen de Duitsers (Trenches in Africa. How the Congolese fought the Germans in 1914-1918) tells the story of how, through the Congolese, Belgium ended up with two new colonies after the war: Rwanda and Burundi. The RMCA loaned various pieces for the exhibit.
