Publications
Since its foundation in 1897, the Museum has issued almost 1400 publications in several disciplines. They are mostly scientific writings – series and monographs –, but the institution also houses many exhibition catalogues, museum guides, musical recordings, and so forth. The Publications Service is responsible for pursuing the RMCA’s publishing policy and for all the practical aspects of a publication: preparation of material (including peer reviews, translations, illustrations, and so forth), planning, graphic design, printing, sales, stock management, distribution, databases of publications and (potential) clients, international distribution… Restructuring the scientific series in 2004 allowed reducing the number of collections.
