Cultural Anthropology

Overall Objective

• The aim of the cultural centre is to conduct a diachronic and synchronic study of African societies and the inherent meaning of their cultural products. The Department carries out its task through scientific research, including fieldwork, through the study and provision of documentation and by managing and developing its collections.
• In this way, the Department seeks to promote better understanding of Africa’s sociocultural diversity, more specifically that of Central Africa, not only in the scientific community but also among the general public, through ongoing cooperation with African researchers.
