Address and opening hours

  • Address :  CAPA building (E) , 3rd floor
  • Accessible from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until 4.30 p.m.
    - Open to students, researchers and any person interested in the traditional languages and literature of Sub-Saharan Africa.
    - Accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
  • Consultation on site; borrowing is not permitted. 

Collections 

  • Books and reviews dedicated to Sub-Saharan Africa in the fields of oral literature and linguistics :
           - grammar, lexicons, linguistic atlases
           - comparative or historical linguistics, classification
           - vehicular languages, contacts between languages
           - teaching manuals
           - epics, stories, proverbs, etc.
           - bibliography, etc.
      The Bantu and Mande groups are well-documented.

  • Linguistics Library Catalogue
    The Linguistics Library Catalogue currently holds about 2.800 books and articles dedicated to Sub-Saharan Africa in the fields of oral literature and linguistics.
    This online version of the catalogue is a work in progress. The actual content of the library is much richer (more than 9000 references).
