Scientific libraries
***While the museum building will close its doors in late 2012 for renovation,
scientific research will continue at Tervuren, and the central and
specialised libraries will remain open to the public.***
Each scientific department has one or more subject-specific libraries.

Open to students, researchers and any person interested in the traditional languages and literature of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Consultation on site; borrowing is not permitted.
Accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
Collections : Books and reviews dedicated to Sub-Saharan Africa in the fields of oral literature and linguistics :
- grammar, lexicons, linguistic atlases
- comparative or historical linguistics, classification
- vehicular languages, contacts between languages
- teaching manuals
- epics, stories, proverbs, etc.
- bibliography, etc.
