Past temporary exhibitions

Until its temporary closure on 1 December 2013, the RMCA presented temporary exhibitions, big and small, in its halls. A hit with the public, these exhibits included in recent years ‘Spiders alive!’ (2012-2013), ‘Uncensored’ (2011-2012), ‘Congo River. 4,700 km bursting with nature and culture’ (2010), and ‘Independence’ (2010-2011).
Catch a glimpse of these exhibits below.

Temporary exhibitions support the museum’s overall goals and general policy, which seek in particular to stimulate interest in and openness to Africa, and strengthen intercultural dialogue.
They also feature collection pieces that are not in the permanent exhibition, thus highlighting scientific research as well.

Thanks to temporary exhibitions, the RMCA can develop networks and partnerships while broadening its audience.

During the renovation, the museum will show up in different parts of the world through exhibits and pieces from its collections. Read about our pop-up exhibitions here.
