Exhibitions. L’invention du sauvage

RMCA and the Musée du quai Branly collaborate on an exhibition

The Musée du quai Branly in Paris will hold the exhibition Exhibitions L’invention du sauvage (Human zoos, The invention of the savage) from 29 November 2011 to 3 June 2012. Paintings, pictures, posters, and costumes show how the ‘exotic human’ was brought to Europe to be exhibited  from the 16th century  onwards.

Items  from the RMCA's collections are on display in this exhibit. The Colonial History section of the RMCA also contributed to the catalogue.
