Notice : The gully at Maman Mobutu district developed in 2008-9 regressively along a road. At an intermediade stage of gully development, the gully haed has been equipped with a step-like ditch, aiming to prevent further incision of the gully head and hence its further retreat. But the next rain, the gully head was slit in two heads, one at each side of the ditch. Attempts to stabilize both heads by the massive use of sand bags have failed. gully management.
