Feature : rockfall
Grouping : mass movements
Discipline : geomorphology
Year : 1999
Locality : Tree shelter valley, Sodmein
Country : Egypt
Region - tribe : Quseir
Physiographic region : Red Sea Mountains
Notice : In front of shafts and galleries in the Thebes limestone walls, concentrations of rock fragments can be found, suggesting they were evacuated from the shaft, gallery or tunnel. It looks like evacuations by mass movements, maybe small scale mud flows, debris flows or rock slides. It shows the geomorphological activity in this dry desert area with only winter rains
