Notice : Spalling, flaking, rock fragmentation at cliffs and other free rocky faces produce rock fragments from small to large dimensions. They alimentate rockfall. It is known that in the Red Sea Mountains Desert rocky deposits are actively transported in the dry conditions of today. Mechanical weathering, especially by pressures exerted by salts, are believed to take place today either.
