Notice : The Augrabies falls on the Orange River, which forms the border between South Africa and Namibia. The original Khoikhoi residents named the waterfall Ankoerebis, which means "place of big noises". The Orange River has eroded into the surrounding granite rock to form a gorge of about 240 meters depth.
