Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the accessibility regulations, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Preparation of the accessibility statement

An external accessibility audit has been carried out. This audit was a simplified analysis. You can read the full test report here: https://scan.accessibility.belgium.be/de/report/2023/www.africamuseum.be

Non-accessible content

We make every effort to make our website as accessible as possible for everyone. However, there are still some non-conformities. Automatic tests have shown the following violations of the Level AA criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1:

  • some images do not have a correct text alternative. This also applies to some tables in terms of the summary or title (WCAG 1.1.1 criterion)
  • some section headings have no content (WCAG criterion 1.3.1)
  • some pages use presentation tags that are obsolete in HTML5 (WCAG criterion 1.3.1)
  • the colour contrast of some elements is insufficient (WCAG criterion 1.4.3)
  • some iframes may have an empty "title" attribute (WCAG criterion 2.4.1)
  • some ID attributes may have duplicate values on some pages (WCAG criterion 4.1.1)
  • there may be anchor elements without link content and without name and/or ID attribute (WCAG criterion 4.1.2).
