This wooden house of an Agent Territorial (A.T.) or territorial official in Lubero, indicates that the living conditions of colonial officials were not always enviable. There are numerous testimonies of young officials who travelled to the colony with their family and ended up in an environment that was not in keeping with heavenly life in the Congo as it had been depicted in the homeland.
