| Notice : | Desert pavements are thin veneers of stone fragments at the surface. On the hogback, they are lag deposits and form as a result of washing out of the fines. The left photograph from 1996 shows a 1m² surface cleaned. The right picture shows the re-appearence of coarse rock fragments in 1999. |
