In June 2024, the Belgian Arachnolgocial Society ARABEL organized a multi-day excursion in the Calestienne region of Belgium, known for its chalk-rich soils. In total, no less than 192 spider species were recognized which consist of about 27 % of the total known Belgian spider fauna. This illustrates again the very rich biodiversity of this unique region. Two very rare species, Dipoena erythropus and Micaria guttulata, are worth mentioning because they are only known from a handful of localities in Belgium. In addition, seven species of harvestmen are also added to the list.
