Notice : | This is an actively aggradating river, with coarse bedload deposition and highering of the river bed. Note the Thebes limestones, dipping away in the foreground and coming up in the background (synclinal valley of the nakheil). After a river flood (flash flood, stream flood) scrub vegetation grows along the braided channel pattern but dries after some weeks or months and becomes 'mummified'. |
