Enhancing expertise in the systematics of tephritid fruit flies and their parasitoids
Study major taxonomic problems with regard to the major fruit fly pests (Diptera, Tephritidae) in Africa. Main objectives are to clarify any taxonomic issues pertaining the genera Ceratitis, Trirhithrum and Dacus. Develop interactive identification tools to facilitate the identification. Create a relational specimen database for the groups involved. Obtain host plant data.
