Invasive leaf-miners to the tropical areas and creating the DNA barcode library to detect new invasions
This project revealed which groups of leaf-miners show ecological plasticity and can act as potential colonizers of sub-Saharan Africa, which ecosystems are most at risk, and which pathways and which vectors of introduction are most important. Because researchers need a fast and reliable way to link global taxonomic information with DNA sequence libraries, we have provided a preliminary global DNA barcode (COI) library for 124 gracillariid species dx.doi.org/10.5883/DS-GRAC3. Within this project we also clarified certain interesting questions in taxonomic history (please refer to the publication on the intranet).
