FRAGMENTS

Ode to my sisters

In FRAGMENTS, photographer and activist Maggy Dago highlights the stories of Afro-European women.

Through ten portraits accompanied by poignant testimonies, Maggy Dago offers these women a space to tell their stories, define themselves and reclaim their image. Their voices reveal life stories marked by strength and vulnerability, wounds and resilience, struggles and hope. Each photograph becomes a fragment of history, each word an affirmation of existence.

The series documents the tangible manifestations of systemic racism and sexism, thereby forming a visual map of resistance. The exhibition breaks the silence and opens a necessary dialogue on equality and solidarity.

A true tribute to women – a femmage –, FRAGMENTS is both an ode to Black femininity and a committed artistic manifesto that invites us to look, listen and rethink our perspectives for a more inclusive society.
