Missionary Work and Architecture in the Belgian Congo (1908-1960). Identity (re)construction between the transmission of culture and dialogue.
Ce projet FWO (Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek) analyse le processus qui mène à la construction d’un espace missionnaire dans le Congo colonial, espace tant architectural que d’interactions culturelles. Dans le cadre de ce projet s’est tenu au Département d’Architecture, Urbanisme et Planning, K.U.Leuven, un atelier international intitulé ‘Spatializing the Missionary Encounter. The Interaction between Missionary Work and Space in Colonial settings’. Le projet débouchera notamment sur une thèse de doctorat (Bram Claeys, ASRO/K.U.Leuven)
