KMMA Knowledge center Mirror server in Kinshasa

In 2015 financed by RAAC MRAC, a working ICT and telecom (internet) infrastructure – fully owned by MRAC - has been installed in Kinshasa earmarked to host mirror (web)sites of sites, information systems, (web)applications etc. developed by MRAC RAAC programmes .A first mirror site – RDCMINING - is operational since 2015, a second site – FRUITFLIES- will be implemented in October 2017. This ICT infrastructure is hosted in Kinshasa in the CRGM – centre de recherches géologiques et minières". CRGM provided a secure room to host all the equipment MRAC acquired – or rents locally in Kinshasa -, but CRGM does not have any operational / financial responsibility. Any "action" on this equipment is decided by MRAC, carried out either by local ICT support staff - for routine actions like backup - or remote from Tervuren or during a mission to Kinshasa by MRAC ICT - for the more complex system maintenance actions. All this is financed through a MRAC - CRGM convention covering 2016-2019, agreed upon this year which stipulates the responsibilities of both parties involved, the activities to be carried out and the budget to be allocated for this through a yearly contract.
