Born in 1990 in Lubumbashi (DRC), François Mutamba Tshibwabwa, alias Nada Tshibwabwa, is an artist and musician who lives and works in Kinshasa as well as in Sau, in the Plateaux Bateke, where he has partly relocated. His work is based on materials found in the streets of Kinshasa, with which he makes masks, robots or costumes for performances. He also practices his talents in drawing and painting and is keen to pass on his knowledge to the younger generation.

His journey has been full of obstacles and has made him an accomplished artist who knows how to implicitly transmit messages about the ills of the society in which we live. He has already performed in several festivals and cultural centres, mainly on the Kinshasa scene. His work has also recently been included in various exhibitions around the world.

The AfricaMuseum (Tervuren, Belgium) has invited Nada Tshibwabwa to a residency from 14 February to 7 May 2022 on the theme of 'ecological knowledge' as part of the European project Taking Care.
