Interactive tour NT2
During this interactive tour you will get to know Central Africa through the unique museum collections. The exhibited objects serve as a starting point for an open discussion on universal themes such as language, music, nature, food and economy.
The masolo* cards about (art) historical objects including masks and sculptures from various Central African societies offer your students the chance to explain a collection piece or share a personal experience during the visit.
Some works by contemporary Congolese artists who are in the museum, each in dialogue with the colonial past, are also discussed.
* Masolo means conversations in Lingala, one of the languages of DR Congo
In preparation for the guided visit to the museum, teachers of Dutch in adult education can download a number of assignments, discussion cards and a glossary from this website. The material can be used during one or more Dutch lessons to make the content of the guided visit more accessible. In addition, it helps students to speak for themselves during the visit.
This tour will always include the following galleries:
- Language and music
- Rituals and ceremonies
- Afropea
- Landscapes and biodiversity
- Ressources, a paradox
Are you coming with a big group? No problem: two groups (corona measures) can start the tour at the same time.
Or if you’d prefer some fresh air, head for the adjacent park.
