Armand Hutereau as an ethnomusicologist

Object type: musical instrument > aerophones > horn > transverse horn > transverse curved drum
Materials: wood, skin, hair / fur
Legend: No matter how long the tusk of an elephant, it is sometimes too short for musical use or to produce low – threatening or impressive sounds. Creative horn cutters elongated the tube with wooden bells to an instrument the height of a man, long enough to give their sound the desired depth and to make it roar tremendously. These types of horns were also used in ensembles, where these deep tones were very welcome.
