Legend:
Joseph Kasa-Vubu (1917-1969) became chairman of cultural association Abako in March 1954. He turned this association into a solid political party. He was regarded as a great leader as of November 1958. He was arrested after the riots of January 1959 in Leopoldstad, but "Roi Kasa" got back his mayor sash in May that same year. He was elected as president of Congo on 24 June 1960. He was pushed aside by Mobutu on 24 November 1965.
