Notice : | Stone pavements are rock fragments, distributed over the soil surface.There exist several hypotheses to explain the origine of stone pavements in deserts, desert pavements. Some hypotheses refer to wet conditions with erosion and concentration of lag deposits at the surface. In other instances, rock fragments are squeezed up to the surface by swelling clays (Vertisols). |
