We present the first inventory of the spider fauna of the Huizingen Provincial Domain, conducted during a biodiversity weekend event on May 19-21, 2023. Various habitats were sampled, including wetland, open meadows, woodlands and flower gardens. In total, 639 spider specimens were collected and identified, among which 510 adults, representing 106 species from 22 famillies. The assemblage was predominantly composed of widespread species, with 93% classified as either "common" or "relatively common". Seven species are considered rare: Araniella displicata, Drassyllus pusillus, Apostenus fuscus, Philodromus rufus, Heliophanus auratus, and Episinus cf. maculipes. This preliminary study indicates a promising level of biodiversity and highlights the need for further sampling throughout the year to fully characterize the spider fauna of the Domain.
