This is a continuously ongoing project mainly involving identification work of wood in the context of wood trade and commerce, enforcement of laws and conventions protecting the forest and endangered species, art history and archaeology.
We establish identification keys based on text based descriptions of wood anatomical features, microscopic images (visual identification keys). We contribute to chemical wood identification efforts and mathematical pattern recognition of wood anatomical sections. .
