How to come to the museum

Public transport

Visitors are advised to come via public transport.

From Brussels

  • Take the train to Brussels-Central station
  • At Brussels-Central: take metro line 1, direction Stockel, and alight at Montgomery
  • At Montgomery: take tram 44 until the last stop (Tervuren station). The trip is 22 minutes long.
  • Attention: Tram 44 will be interrupted and replaced by a T-bus. 
  • The museum can be found across the tram stop. 

From Leuven - Limbourg – Liège

  • Take the train to Leuven
  • Take bus 317 or 410 until the tram 44 stop (Tervuren station)
  • The museum can be found across the tram stop. 

From Brussels National Airport

  • Take bus De Lijn 830 
  • Alight at Tervuren centre.
  • Walk 10 minutes to the museum.

By car

From Leuven-Liège

  • E40 in the direction of Brussels
  • Exit 22 ‘Bertem’
  • N3 in the direction of Tervuren
  • Remain on N3 Leuvensesteenweg until you reach the museum.

From Brussels

  • A3 then E40 in the direction of Leuven - Liège
  • Exit 22 ‘Bertem / Tervuren’
  • N3 in the direction of Tervuren
  • Remain on N3 Leuvensesteenweg until you reach the museum

or

  • Belliard tunnel
  • Continue on to the Avenue de Tervuren.
  • Remain on the Avenue de Tervuren and go past Vier Armen/Quatre Bras 
  • At the second roundabout, turn left onto Leuvensesteenweg until you reach the museum.

From Antwerp or Ghent

  • Take the ring road (R0).
  • Exit at ‘Tervuren-Quatre Bras’ (N227)
  • Turn left and take the Avenue de Tervuren (N3). 
  • At the second roundabout, turn left onto Leuvensesteenweg until you reach the museum.

From Charleroi or Mons

  • Take the ring road (R0).
  • Exit at ‘Tervuren-Quatre Bras/Vier Armen’ (N227)
  • Turn left and take the Avenue de Tervuren (N3). 
  • At the second roundabout, turn left onto Leuvensesteenweg until you reach the museum.

Parking

The new carpark beside Tram 44 is open with place for 286 cars and 300 bikes. 

The carpark will remain free of charge for now.

ATTENTION: Parking is at your own risk. They are unguarded parking spaces and are the responsibility and liability of the drivers of the means of transport.

By bike 

Vlaanderen Fietsland has developed three wonderful cycling routes:

  1. The voervallei route 
  2. The Groene Gordel route 
  3. The Zoniënroute 

 Of course, you can also plan your own route. Register on the website to download all the routes free of charge.
