History and heritage, a feminist exploration

In this second session, we focus on two research projects emphasizing the feminist approach to Belgian and global artistic and historical heritage.

The project Sites of feminist memory aims to create a crowd-sourced map of all the commemorative monuments of the women's suffrage movement worldwide.

The project GENDER (Wearing gender glasses: narratives and stories in the museum) is designed to address one of the main concerns of our society, of which museum spaces are integral parts: reflection on gender issues and representations (social sexes and sexualities). It aims to be a significant contribution to the reflection on gender issues in the field of visual arts, combining an academic approach with a practical and societal dimension.
