For the 64th commemoration of the death of Prince Louis Rwagasore (1932-1961), the Royal Family of Burundi-Kukirimba Belgium invites you, in collaboration with the AfricaMuseum, to a conference on his life, battles, and legacy.

Born in 1932, eldest son of mwami (king) Mwambutsa IV Bangiricenge, Prince Louis Rwagasore was assassinated on 13 October 1961, after having been elected Prime Minister of Burundi. At the time, the central African nation of Burundi was still a trust territory under Belgium.

Conference with the following speakers:

- Melchior Mukuri: historian and emeritus professor, Université du Burundi (by video)

- Aline Ndenzako: granddaughter of mwami Mwambutsa IV Bangiricenge, niece of Prince Louis Rwagasore, and founder of the association 'Mémoires communes, avenir commun'

- Jean Bosco Rwigemera: descendant of mwami Mutaga III Senyamwiza, former diplomat in Tanzania and Belgium, former first secretary of the Jeunesse révolutionnaire Rwagasore and former member of the central committee of the party UPRONA.

- Gaëtan Sebudandi: personal friend of Prince Louis Rwagasore, journalist, and author.

The conference will be moderated by Innocent Harerimana, teacher, writer, and poet, and representative of the Royal Family of Burundi-Kukirimba Belgium.
