A new detailed geological mapping of the Mesodevonian rocks in the southern margin of the Dinant synclinorium, has been made at the 1/10.000 scale between Han-sur-Lesse and Beauraing (Belgium). The late and post-hercynian tectonic history of this area has been found rather complex. The folded E-W structures formed during the major hercynian phase (N-S compression) are affected by later deformations, which are successively:
-a normal E-W fault dipping sharply to the south, related to a N-S extension phase;
-some tectonic structures related to a dextral strike-slip deformation: the Z-shaped structure of Revogne and a series of transverse faults and folds which intersect the former E-W structures.
Mineral deposits of barite, fl uorite and galena are present in the upper level of givetian limestones, as fault breccia. The mineralization process took place during all the late and post-hercynian tectonic activity of the area considered.
