CARTELS : Giving form to absences, embodying narratives, situating knowledge

Temporary installation as part of Matrimony Days, September 25–27, 2026

What does the museum show, and what remains out of sight? This carefully put-together, temporary installation of museum labels (‘cartels’ in French) brings together around fifteen texts written by authors with diverse backgrounds including activism, art, research or museum outreach. The installation highlights the tensions and dissonances between the museum presentation, the silences and absences it perpetuates, and the infinite voices that exist outside institutional discourse.

The fanzine CARTELS Giving form to absences, embodying narratives, situating knowledge brings all these texts together. They were written for the Matrimony Days Weekend (25-27 September 2026) as part of the PROMA (PROvenance research for Museum Audiences & Matrimoine) research project (2024-2026).
